La Fille d’O Fast Girls bra

I’ve been following @lafilledo for a few years and jumped at the chance to buy their monowire Fast Girls bra when it went on sale. It’s a truly unique piece with a simple, versatile design. Not only does this bra look fierce as hell with its graphic darts and a monowire that peeks out in low cut tops, its minimal construction is really great for the summer heat.

I was worried that the very thin straps would not be supportive but it actually holds up quite well. In the beginning, the fabric of the monowire at the apex of the center of the bra would flip out a little bit but eventually, the wire began to bend to match the curve of my body and then it started to fit flatter.

One of the biggest selling points for me, which is sometimes not mentioned in descriptions of this bra, is how you can change the style of the straps. So you can wear it with a cross-back, which is how it is normally worn in advertising photos, or straight, regular straps, or remove one strap to make it into a halter.

The straps are totally adjustable so in gauging fit, you need to focus on the cup size. I’m normally a 32D/34C. I tried on sizes 1 and 2 and 2 was definitely the better fit for my cup, a little snug but no spillage.

My one major difficulty with this piece is storage. The monowire is rather long so Fast Girls doesn’t fit easily with my other bras. And because the wire moulds to your body, you can’t lay it flat either! I suppose you could try flattening the wire but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to stress the material of the wire this way. So I just rest Fast Girls on top of my other bras. For this reason, I also wouldn’t pack this for travel because I wouldn’t want to damage the monowire. Other than that, I only have a nitpicking observation which is that a thread is coming undone on one of the seams. However, if you have any serious issues with the bra, you can actually send it back to Amsterdam for repairs which is amazing.

I bought my Fast Girls bra from SSENSE during its summer sale for CA$158 down from CA$200. It appears as though SSENSE is not carrying the line anymore, which is a shame as I would have liked to purchase a matching bottom. If only I had known!
