Happy Monday my loves! Hope you all had an amazing Mother’s Weekend! I couldn’t be happier spending my very first Mother’s Day in Hawaii surrounded by my family, showing Alessa the island, and introducing her to more aunties, uncles and cousins! We were a bit nervous for her first flight, but it actually went so smoothly and she’s already such an island girl lol..loving all the nature and taking everything in with those big eyes of hers!! Today I wanted to share a few of the tropical beach essentials I brought to Hawaii. First off, you always need a good bikini with a cute print! Loving this banana leaf printed bikini by Alexia Stam and it couldn’t be more perfect for Hawaii. To pair with the bikini, I recently got this new basket bag from VASIC and I’m in love! Nowadays, every tropical vacation calls for a stylish basket/straw bag that can be carried from the beach to the town. This bag is the perfect size and the black leather trim and intricate weave is very sleek and sophisticated. Another thing I can’t travel without is my OUAI Rose Hair & Body Oil. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again (especially as a new mama), I’m all about mulit-purpose products! This product can be used as a skin moisturizer, hair oil, frizz tamer, leave-in conditioner, perfume oil, and it looks pretty on your vanity ;) It makes both my skin and hair feel so soft, smooth and nourished without feeling sticky or oily. Definitely the only oil you need to bring on vacay! And you guys know no matter what kind of travel I’m doing, I need some heel action. I have my flip-flops and sandals packed for all the beach festivities, and for nighttime I had to bring along my new black mules from Tony Bianco. Loving this sleek, minimal thong mule style with an easy slip on situation. Last but not least my Le Specs micro sunnies are my go-to sunnies right now! I bought 3 pairs of these in different colors for Coachella and I swear they were the only sunnies I wore all weekend!
Now let’s talk tropical beauty essentials! First thing on my packing list is always the GLOW. I tried out these new NARS Highlighting Powders and knew they were exactly the kind of glow I needed for my vacation. What I love about these powder highlighters is that they go on as a powder, but instantly melt into your skin for a dewy, luminous finish that you usually don’t feel with many powder highlighters. Now, if there’s one lipstick Nicole Richie would bring with her to the desert, it’s this one and I couldn’t agree more. Last week I had the honor of doing a mini episode and giveaway with @nicolerichie and her capsule collection with Urban Decay Cosmetics! I fell in love with her House of Harlow 1960 x Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in the shade Tilt, the perfect combination between a bright red and bright orange. I’ve always been a big fan of Urban Decay’s Vice Lipstick formula, especially for tropical vacations because it’s packed with nourishing ingredients like Aloe Vera, Vitamin C & E, Avocado, and Jojoba oil to keep your lips looking hydrated with all that sun!! I hardly ever wear bright lip colors when I’m in the city, but when I’m bronzed and sunkissed I always gravitate to the brighter shades. For those of you who save my IG story unboxing the other day, I was so exciting about opening these new Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain Customizable Lipsticks. The cases are so chic and luxe, with little mirrors that makes it easy to apply lipstick on-the-go! Another tropical vacation essential is fun tassel and beaded drop earrings like these Granita Beaded Tassel Earrings by BaubleBar. I always try to streamline my wardrobe and makeup when on tropical vacations, so having fun statement earrings is a must to adding that oomph to any simple outfit!
