“A poem without words, a song without notes, a drawing without shapes.” How can it all sound so beautifully broken, so fragmentary and yet so perfectly whole? The illustrated answer comes from Gabor Marton, who, in lensing the marvelous Melanie Pareja, pours poetry into stunning imagery, each photograph gifted with a soul, a silhouette, a meaning. Cast in shadow, and then in soft light, painted black and white, and then splashed with a whisper of colour, Melanie does summer-siren, veiled and then bare.
