Sans la guerre, dont les effets se manifestent encore dans toutes les branches, on pourrait, à L’heure présente, se rendre de Marseille à Alexandrie en moins de trois jours.
Malgré les retards apportés aux améliorations projetées, il n’en demeure pas moins que ce « voyage long et difficile » ne constitue plus qu’une promenade.
Bientôt, on ira plus vite, et plus volontiers, visiter les Pyramides, que l’on ne se rend aux Pyrénées ou au Mont-Blanc.
