Questioning the line between the body and what adorns it, Olga Noronha’s models were dotted with lines that seemed to instruct, cut here. The nude sheets of fabric carried the lines as well as did the models’ faces, and the runway occasionally slipped into performance art when a model would stop and, indeed, have her fabric sheath momentarily cut apart with a pair of scissors mid-walk. Thankfully the skin received no such treatment, but Noronha still got one thinking about surgery and cyborgery and anatomy. Her jewellery pieces were also futuristic in feel and anatomical in inspiration, bringing bejewelled plastic pieces to life with designs that mirrored arteries and bones.
Noronha showed her fall 2015 collection at day 1 of ModaLisboa.
