First visual proof of concept shot on a roundshot camera.
(January 2018, Thanks Hannes for the camera)
Photography is an extension to human perception. For my work I am intrigued with the camera’s image-creating system and how individual elements in these complex processes influence the visual results. In long-term, the developments in the image-creating systems are going to influence our perception of our physical sourroundings.
For my projects I often build additions to existing imaging systems in order to augment the cameras capabilities. Recently I made space visible for the camera (Quantified Landscape) and I deconstructed the linear perspective by means of a multiocular computational capture (Aporetic Spectacle).
For some time now, I have been thinking about the possibility of controlling with high precision a slitscan camera moving through the landscape. The motion blur introduced by parallax should make it possible to read a cross-section of the landscape.
My posts in the tumblr by Flare are updates from my research (with an open end…).
