
After every fashion week comes to a close, critics and showgoers pick apart each collection in an attempt to understand the thinking behind the designs. Usually they settle for the most likely inspirations, though they're rarely confirmed by the designers themselves. So imagine our delight to discover that WWD had spoken to many of the designers set to show their latest collections in New York, and found out exactly what was on their minds as they created. Musing on everything from classic Brontë novels to chocolates to 1970s Manhattan, designers have dipped into quite a diverse pool for Fall/Winter 2015.
