John Varvatos Fall / Winter 2011
For a second parade at the Milan Fashion Week for men, I loved John Varvatos . The American designer of Greek origin (you guessed the name) cut his teeth at Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein before launching his own label in 1999. It is mainly distributed in the United States and a selection of upmarket boutiques in Europe. The general public has notably discovered by its association with Converse for a model that has entered history, Converse by John Varvatos . For Autumn / Winter 2011, John Varvatos has welcomed its guests in the beautiful church of San Paolo Converso in Milan. Under a ceiling illuminated, it has installed a real farwest decor with rails, gravel and clocks giant wedged in Milan and New York. We found many nods to the era of westward expansion in the parade: the sand-colored natural materials, the work of layering, cutting coats, work on leather, studded belts, hats, chains and accessories. However, the collection is truly beautiful city with coats or suits that would look crossed the streets of New York. Finally, a fascinating mix of history and American fashion today!
