A Hamburg native, Robert Geller grew up near the shore, and for Spring Summer 2016 he is paying homage to the windy summers of his youth with a collection that takes its cue from water, wind and billowing sails:
Worn in, sun bleached looking fabrics and crackly textures imitate the dusty sturdiness of sails and just anything that has been altered by the touch of saltwater and sun. Jackets that are made out of memory nylon - that can be shaped,crinkled and straightened at will- as well as ultra thin paper bombers and shorts take the idea of sails even more literally, while enzyme washed cottons create this weathered, worn in touch, that gives the wearer a feeling of comfort and familiarity:
In continuing with the nautic inspiration the colors not unlike a nordic sunset range from saturated cadmium reds and washed out browns to indigo and navy, a disappearing red sun soon to be swallowed by the deep hues of the Ocean.
