June is Black Music Month, as decreed by President Carter in 1979 or African American Music Appreciation Month as President Obama decreed in 2009.
June is Pride Month, which was first decreed by President Clinton in 1999.
June is the month when we celebrate Juneteenth (also know as Freedom Day, Liberation Day, Jubilee Day and Emancipation Day), a day to commemorate the notification reaching enslaved folks in Galveston, TX that slavery was officially outlawed by President Lincoln.
Our intersectional liberation shall be celebrated regardless of presidential decree.
