Sometimes, the difference between a good school and a not-so-good school means growing up to be a software engineer instead of spending your life in a rock quarry. The Girl Project, Glamour’s philanthropic initiative, sent director Elizabeth Lo to meet Keerthi, whose life changed when she was accepted into a special boarding school in India through @ShesTheFirst. _____ "Since I am the first in my family to get this education, I know I will have to help my family a lot. At the age of three and a half my mother found out about Shanti Bhavan and she brought me here. We had interviews, just like small tests, and they thought I was smart and then they took me. Shanti Bhavan is a boarding school which gives education to a lot of poor people, poor children from very poor backgrounds. I want to be a software engineer. We have a subject called computers and we do Java programming and Scratch projects and it's really fun and interesting. I just love this place a lot.
