It can be tempting to recycle the same going-out outfit weekend after weekend—you know, a little black dress, some high-heel boots, maybe a leather jacket and some oversize hoop earrings. But this Saturday night, we propose you venture a little farther outside your comfort zone and take a cue from Joan Smalls, who we spotted wearing a matching two-piece ensemble that truly stood out from the pack.

For one, the set was electric pink. And for another, the high-rise pants and coordinating crop top offered a fall-friendly alternative to dresses and jumpsuits while still looking fully party-appropriate. Alas, Smalls's outfit, designed by New York label Area, isn't available yet, but we have found plenty that are, including affordable options from Zara and Mango, as well as designer picks from Baja East and Off-White.
