Thought I’d review an old classic today, the Tomoe Ouvert Wire Bra by Bordelle.
This remains one of my all time favourite pieces to wear out. The design looks stunning from all sides and avoids being too dated or cliched by alternating the width of its dramatic straps. It’s very easy to match with a variety of black satin or mesh bottoms. My favourite way to style the piece is to wear it on top of a different set, like Agent Provocateur’s Leisa. Because the Bordelle is so adjustable, it’s not uncomfortable to wear the double wires.

The piece stands out with its 24 karat gold-plated sliders and high quality elastics.
I’ve worn this piece for years now and the elastics have not noticeably weakened.
The fabric is very comfortable and the construction is sturdy. Obviously, with an open cup and sliders on every strap, this bra is also completely customizable for a perfect fit. I took size S.
I purchased this bra at full retail price from Secrets from Your Sister many years ago. I’ve long since forgotten how much I paid for it, but at the time, I am pretty sure it was around CA$200 which is a fair bit more affordable than their other bras and a good “entry level” piece if you’re interested in the brand. It currently retails on the Bordelle site for £142.50.
Fabrics: elastics: 89% polyamide, 11% elastane; mesh: 82% polyamide, 18% elastane.
