Vivien Leigh on the November 7th, 1953 cover of Illustrated Magazine publicizing her role in The Sleeping Prince. Vivien’s role in this play later inspired that of Marilyn’s in The Prince and the Showgirl, which had originally been meant for Vivien until, then husband and producer//lead of The Prince and the Showgirl, Laurence Olivier decided she was too old for the part. Marilyn later attended one of Vivien’s performances in another play entitled South Sea Bubble.
