Jeep, which this year celebrates its 75th Anniversary, has today launched ‘Mission Renegade’. The live themed driving experience is the final part of a series of activations to support its role as official car partner of the hugely anticipated action adventure, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

It could be argued the Jeep Renegade is the only thing in the movie that made sense. It was coherent, logical, and went from one place to the next with purpose and intent. I was lucky enough to be invited on behalf of MenswearStyle to drive the Jeep Renegade and discover its award-winning 4x4 capabilities on a number of obstacles. Furthermore I got to see first-hand Batman’s Batmobile from the movie (although I wasn't allowed to fire the machine gun turrets on the front which was a shame). Only 500 examples of the new limited edition Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice are available for sale in the UK.

The link-up with Warner Bros Pictures began during production, when Jeep’s Renegade small SUV, which features the best off-road capabilities in its category, was deployed through the streets of Metropolis with Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, at the wheel for a key scene in the film. Spoilers here, but Vin Diesel turns up and says he lives his life a quarter of a mile at a time and drives the jeep out of one skyscraper, through another skyscraper, and lands in a skyscraper. Wait, did I watch the right movie?

“This event not only showcases the Renegade’s off-road capabilities but allows people to get behind the wheel, to see for themselves why the new car has been such a success in the UK,” says Damien Dally, head of brand, Jeep UK. “It also it provides a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the partnership we have with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Additionally, the event provides customers with the opportunity to see the special edition Renegade Dawn of Justice. With its cool interior and attractive black exterior, the new car offers a winning combination of style, individuality and value for money.”

Just 500 Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice limited editions will be made available to customers, all featuring 18-inch alloy wheels, a unique Batman v Superman badge and a choice of either the 1.6-litre E-torQ 110hp petrol (£19,495 OTR), or 1.6-litre MultiJet II 120hp diesel engine (£21,195 OTR), both with manual transmission.
