The Vintage Edit #4

Springtime Refresh

Ok, so perhaps my aim of posting more than once in a week after a 3-month hiatus was a bit ambitious, but here I am! As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been on a bit of a vintage binge lately. Not necessarily buying anything, but hunting, and it only made sense to share any finds with you here.

I think there is something about this time of year that makes us all look at our wardrobes and evaluate. The sun is starting to show (well, not if this week has anything to do with it) and flowers are blooming. So of course my mind turns to bare ankles, dresses, baskets and all the goodness that a bit of warm weather brings. I have plenty in my wardrobe already to create fresh outfits with, but that definitely doesn’t stop the craving for a new (to me) dress, especially after being cooped up indoors for months- I have a feeling we’ll all be wearing our very best when we’re allowed out again.

Even for me as a size 12-14, finding vintage dresses that fit can be a bit of a task – I’ve tried to include as big a range of sizes here as I could find. I know it’s something that a lot of vintage sellers are conscious of whenever I enquire about bigger sizes. My friend Ghenet just pulled together an edit of tips and shops that she loves buying from as a plus-sized person. I’ve found that the Austrian/dirndl style dresses come in a range of sizes and can be really flattering if you have larger boobs.

I did find a dress to debut when the sun comes out, so you’re going to have to do me a favour and buy up the rest in my size in this edit because I’m trying to have some restraint! x
