I’m…back?
Hi! I’ve been putting off writing a blog post. You know when there is task you have to complete but you’ll find EVERY possible thing to do around the house to avoid it? It’s been like that. I think because this pandemic has well and truly caught up with my creativity. Remember last year when we were all finding novel ways to keep things interesting? Creators had a captive audience (literally) and navigating a new very digital life was selfishly quite an interesting task for those of us whose lives weren’t totally uprooted. Then the jobs dried up, then the ideas dried up, any enthusiasm dried up. My main motivation for posting here is because I can’t stand to have a Christmas-themed post on the homepage in MARCH.
I think for so many of us now the days and weeks are blending. It’s groundhog day, with the only difference being the weather on our daily walks (when we can be bothered to put a real pair of shoes on). Obviously that’s not a particularly inspiring foundation for content, never mind entire blog posts. BUT the days are getting longer, the sun has been sticking around and we have time with friends and family in our sights.
I’m trying not to plan ahead too much because I don’t want to be disappointed if things fall through- we’ve all had enough of that, haven’t we? But simple things like meeting friends to sit and eat on a patch of grass somewhere, or being able to go back to Somerset and see my family, they are attainable and I can’t wait.
Maybe simply posting this will unblock the clog and I’ll have more ideas pour out- if there is anything at all you’d like to see from me I’m more than happy to hear. I’m going to (try to) come back to you later this week with a vintage clothing roundup, because if there is something that hasn’t slowed, it’s my habit of scrolling Etsy and eBay.
In the process of writing this teeny little post I’ve sewn replacement buttons on a coat, made multiple hot beverages, actually dealt with the returns I need to post and checked just about every website on the internet at least three times. My attention span is criminally short at the moment. What was I even talking about?
