Kfir Galatia Azulay distills architecture into marble forms

Designed by architect, multidisciplinary designer, and artist Kfir Galatia Azulay, Eternal Structures is a collection of architectural objects carved from solid white Carrara marble. Positioned at the intersection of architecture, contemporary art, and collectible design, the series investigates how architectural thinking can be expressed independently of buildings through form, proportion, and material.

Rather than functioning as architectural models or conventional sculptures, the marble objects distill architecture into its essential spatial qualities. They do not reference existing buildings or specific locations, but instead examine relationships between mass and void, rhythm, proportion, and balance. The compositions suggest fragments of imagined cities or archetypal architectural forms, allowing viewers to interpret the works without a fixed narrative.

Single blocks of marble shape collectible design objects

Each object is carved from a single block of white Carrara marble, a material historically associated with architecture and sculpture. Here, Carrara marble is employed at a domestic scale, introducing architectural qualities into interior environments rather than commemorative monuments. The natural veining of the stone ensures that every piece is unique, with each work forming an individual element within the ES1 – Eternal Structures collection by designer Kfir Galatia Azulay.

Material weight is a defining aspect of the series. In contrast to contemporary objects designed for lightness or temporary use, the marble forms emphasize physical presence through their density and mass. Their architectural character is expressed through proportion, materiality, and balance rather than ornament, allowing each object to establish a measured relationship with its surroundings.
